However, in the past two months, I have already RMA-ed or will have RMA-ed the following: a WD Caviar Green 3TB hard drive, a SteelSeries Siberia V2, a pair of Rayban RB3183 Sunglasses, and now, a Corsair M60 mouse. Thankfully, the Corsair mouse comes with a two year warranty and I purchased this mouse back in January 2013.

Product: Corsair M60 – Mouse
Problem: Middle mouse button no longer works
Resolution time: 4 business days; October 10, 2014 – October 15, 2014

October 10, 2014 – Middle mouse button stops working

Recently, my middle mouse button only works occasionally and I have to middle-click multiple times before it even registers once. Today, however, the middle mouse button stopped working completely and it made me realize how often I use the button to close windows in Chrome and to open links in new tabs. I created a ticket at corsair.force.com outlining my problem and, according to their FAQ, they also offer an Express RMA option, which I will be opting for once they reply back.

October 12, 2014

My ticket is approved for RMA. It was strange that I got a response on a Sunday since I assumed that their CSR’s only work during the week. In any case, they informed me that I have to call in to get the Express RMA set up.

October 13, 2014

Called Corsair’s customer service line and gave them the necessary information for the Express RMA. As with all Express RMA’s, a temporary hold is placed on my credit card until they receive the defective product. Also, since the Corsair M60 is no longer being produced, they will now be sending the newer model of the mouse (Corsair M65). From what I can tell, the major differences are the sensor (5700 vs. 8200 dpi) and the switches (10 million vs. 20 million) that they use.

October 15, 2014

Replacement Corsair M65 arrived today! No damage to the box and everything looked new. Unpacked it, plugged it in, and I was good to go. The material on the side of the mouse is slightly rougher than the M60. Another difference I noticed is that the scroll wheel feels smoother.

Conclusion

Express RMA’s are definitely the way to go when dealing with RMA’s. It beats having to wait a week for the product to arrive at the RMA location and then waiting again on their staff to process the defective product. I am definitely happy with the speed and quality of Corsair’s Customer Service. Let’s just hope this mouse doesn’t die on me. *crosses fingers*

Prior to September, I don’t think I’ve ever had to RMA anything.
